Don’t let the Gosford Landing be hijacked

Why is it that people are often quick and outspoken to voice criticism but reluctant, slow and silent to show support? Do supporters believe that to say nothing means to show support? Well think again.

Don’t let the Landing be hijacked

As we all know, a noisy minority is attempting to hijack plans for the Gosford Landing, and their outspoken negativity is taking a toll. These individuals seem determined to hold the region back. Why? A resistance to change perhaps? Or a lack of understanding? Your guess is as good as ours.

While we strongly advocate freedom of speech in the community and applaud Gosford City Council and Central Coast Regional Development Corporation for encouraging and welcoming strong community participation, it needs to be about constructive feedback, not negativity for the sake of some unknown personal agenda.

Are we, as a community of ratepayers and business people, going to let this opportunity be hijacked by a group of noisy, self-absorbed individuals?

Stand up & be counted

Showing support and working together for the benefit of the region is necessary. But more than that, it is a responsibility of anyone who lives on the Coast and/or has business interests here. And this is true no matter where on the Coast you are based.

The simple fact of the matter is this - the Landing will revitalise the length and breadth of the Central Coast because it will create thousands of jobs and attract new businesses here. It’s definitely not just about Gosford.

It’s about the next generation – our children and grandchildren - so that they can live and work in an environment that is as stimulating, diverse and prosperous as it is beautiful.

It’s time to stand up and loudly support what you believe in. Email the Central Coast Regional Development Corporation and Chris Holstein.
