The Central Coast has long been known as home to some of Australia’s best country music talent. And the lineup of finalists for the 2012 Jayco Country Music Awards of Australia (Golden Guitars) is proving to be no exception for the Central Coast with 5 locals in the running to take out a combined awards tally of 24.
5 locals in the running for 25 awards
Finalists for the country music industry’s hallmark event of the year were announced last Friday. Among the list were the following Central Coast locals:
Adam Harvey, who leads the nominations tally with 8 finalist places, including Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Album of the Year.
Shane Nicholson, who has earned 7 finalist nominations for his critically acclaimed album, ‘Bad Machines’.
Beccy Cole, with 6 finalist nods for her album ‘Songs & Pictures’, an album produced by Shane Nicholson.
Katrina Burgoyne, who is in the running for Female Artist of the Year and Telstra New Talent of the Year.
Kasey Chambers, finalist for the Sanity Top Selling Album of the Year for ‘Little Bird’.
Nicholson and Cole (pictured on the Home page) are all set to host the iconic Tamworth event in January, which celebrates its 40th anniversary with a theme of ‘Looking Forward Looking Back’.
